Leading scientists from research institutes, major universities of the country and JSC "Aluminium of Kazakhstan", a member of ERG, met at the scientific and innovative hackathon. For two days, Pavlodar became the center of discussion of current problems of the metallurgical industry - six groups of scientists and expert practitioners were busy solving 21 production tasks of the aluminum cluster.
Despite the fact that such a hackathon is being held for the first time, ERG has long and closely cooperated with Kazakhstani science, developing the domestic metallurgical industry for the benefit of the entire economy of the country. Back in 2012, the ERG Research Engineering Center was created. This is an independent organization whose activities are aimed at finding and implementing innovations with a focus on creating additional value for the Eurasian Group and increasing its economic efficiency.
The office of the ERG Research Center is located in Astana, but its five laboratories are fully integrated into production and are based at the group's factories in Pavlodar, Aksu, Khromtau and Aktobe. This allowed the company to unite 66 highly qualified employees, dozens of whom have unique competencies and experience.
Working in four technology areas with unique expertise, ERG Research Center cooperates with 39 leading universities and research centers from 11 countries. The organization's current portfolio includes 47 projects with a total effect of $1.8 billion. At the same time, since the beginning of 2021 alone, 35 projects have been transferred for implementation, 14 of which have already been implemented and 14 are at the implementation stage.
